there was this guy that referred to every instrument like it was a horn and i got a huge kick out of it

”man that guy can blow!”, about the drummer

“where’s your horn at, brother!”, to a guitarist

    but on a serious note

when i think about the musicians i love the most — Johnny Hodges, Paul Gonsalves, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles, too many more to name — they have one thread in common as i see it and it’s that they make it sing, they grip us with their beautiful sound

joe serenades us and that is an exceedingly rare thing to behold. in that way he really is like a singer, or a horn or violinist. he’s in that very special category of player that is so near and dear to me

and with all that I’ll refrain from bumping this thread as I’ve drifted off topic, i just couldn’t resist

Again, thanks so much to everybody that shared insights and advice

OK, then if you say so, if you haven't heard it, it's a "colloquialism". Here ya go, look it up..

    ES-175 + $$$$ in the bank.
You will likely always be able to get your cash back out of it if you ever need to; maybe more~
Find one in good shape. I bought one this past year. Almost gave up after hunting for a while; then I found one on FB marketplace. It turned out to belong to a friend of an old friend who worked up the street from me. I made an offer and I got a 'Square Deal' on that one.
