Hi. I was on the hunt for a guitar that is more manageable than my archtops and after some years of owning teles, a jazzmaster and a jaguar I think I finally found it. A local dealer in the Tucson area had 4 Powers Electric guitars in stock and I decided to try them all. There was a winner (see attached picture) and it came home with me. It's a very interesting guitar that gets me closer to the jazz sound that I want than any other solid body guitar I have played. It's probably because despite its looks, this is actually a hollow body instrument without any holes. The sound is incredibly articulate and that "Oslo Blue" color is pure eye candy (at least for me). A really interesting quirk of this guitar is that the tremolo bar, which resembles a bigsby is not really a bigsby, but rather something that grabbed my attention the first time I used it. If you zoom in, you'll see that the place where each string wraps has a different diameter, a sort of cam shaft for lack of a better word. What this does is that I can play a chord and raise or lower the entire chord a semi-tone and the chord will stay in tune. I've used tremolo bars of all kinds but I've never seen one that can act on an entire chord while keeping all notes in tune relative to each other. Anyway, it's a NGD / guitar honey moon for me so I just wanted to pop in and share these first impressions. I'll see if I can find the time to record something on it for my youtube channel.
    Cheers.

Congrats! Way cool! Indeed that trem is a hyper-engineered reimagination of a Bigsby. There’s also a version of this instrument without the trem and you can choose between two kinds of pickups. It’s been on my radar for a while and I really like that they’ve come up with something fresh. I get everything I need from my guitars and am more likely to sell than buy, so not really tempted to get one. But if I were looking for something new then this would be a strong contender.

Thanks! I got to try the version without the trem and also one with a trem with the FF42 pickups (mine has the PF42 pickups). The party trick of being able to slide into an entire chord from below or above sold me on the trem. And for me, the PF42 pickups were the way to go. PF42s sound closer to a P90, FF42 sounded closer to a Humbucker. I'm a single coil guy and so I was drawn the more single coil'ish and articulate sound of the PF42s.
