Any suggestions for an attractive wooden guitar stand for under $200. The ones I've found for around $100 haven't looked that impressive, and those which have impressed me are priced at over $300.

"Take a stand" were at MSG this year. (winner of the best free guitar pick award for 2011) All over 300$ but take a copy of pics and find a hobyist who wants to try making it (maybe using less exotic woods)

I have made a few wooden guitar stands but they look like they were made by a drunken ikea employee (the fact that I was drunk at the time has nothing to do with it...)

    not bad, similar to Hagstrom.

while they look great i have found that the high-on-the-neck support gets in the way a little bit.

That little neck support is removable according to the builder www.southmtwoodworks.com/

I'll second the idea of having a woodworking hobbyist take a shot at one. I do a little woodwork on the side and I keep trying to convince myself to make a few stands. I just never get around to it (honey-do list is just too large).

I build custom hardwood amp stands and rack cabinets for a living, I'd be willing to try this project out if you're interested in getting creative and designing your own custom guitar stand. It could be done for under 200 easily if the design is not too extravagant.

Check my work out on FB if you are interested in something that you have a hand in designing.

I'm always ready for a good custom challenge in the wood shop.

I found these - -I really like the look. And in your price range too. I found another too, but more money. When these wood stands are well done, they're tough not to try to own !! . Dennis
