Hey there! So I have a 335 and have had a hard case for many years... I'm rehersing with some muisicians out of my town and I have to take train to get there and having a hard case isn't very practical... I've been looking around for a Gigbag that I can carry on my back with good storage space but I don't really know what size they are by looking up sites on the web... Any help?

The Mono Case M80 for semi-hollow is really great.

    Have a look at Blätterkatalog®

No idea if they have what you want but seems to be one of the few sites that lists dimensions of their bags and cases.

I am also having a little difficulty finding a gig bag for a 335. People seem to really like their Mono bags, but I was also thinking about a Reunion Blues bag. Any thoughts on this one:

...if you´re in Europe, check these out:

    Super Gigbags - Tone-Toys Onlineshop

For a 335-style guitar you´ll need the Dreadnought version. It´s really affordable and sturdy and well-built,
I use it all the time. Highly recommended.

Also, tone-toys.de is a nice store, never had a problem with them and they were always friendly and helpful.

I really find that bags which keep the headstock down as close to your head as possible result in fewer collisions through doorways, staircases, etc. Some bags have backpack straps that leave the neck and headstock very high.

    Keith,

I've had a couple of Reunion Blues bags for years, and they're great. Highly recommended!

I had a leather case made for my 335 by Glen Kronchite... THE best cases IMO...

after reading PTChristophers reasonable comment, I want to add:

The backpack straps on the gigbags I recommend leave the headstock pretty high above your head,
so you´ll have to watch out when walking through doors. That´s a big misadvantage.

But when I am not using my bike I only use the one-shoulder-strap, which is very comfortabel
and leaves the headstock at about the height of your shoulder.

    Cheers,
    H.

I agree. That's my biggest complaint with many gig bags. My Levy's bags sit low on my shoulders, plus I can use a single strap if I want, and I like that. The Reunion Blues bags seem to also sit low and can be slung over the shoulder with one strap. I like the looks of the mono, but I wonder if it rides too high? Any experience?

This is why I prefer the Mono over the Re-Onion Blues Continental - which sits high even after RB altered the straps slightly.

The Mono sits notably lower, and while am sightly tall at 1,86m (6' 1") I can walk with the Mono without even thinking about height.

I have a Reunion RBG-1 (so the small electric Continental) that I do not use since I got the Mono in the same size.

Off-topic: My Mono M80 Acoustic fits my X-180 (16 X 3) guitar perfectly, and also sits nicely low and out of the way.

EDIT: The acoustic case will also carry a 175 or, oddly enough, a Byrdland (wider but shallower) nicely.

I use a Mono M80 for my Eastman T186 (335 size-ish). It's brilliant, and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a gig bag. I'm going to get a guitar tick for it too so I can carry around a few extra things to gigs and things.

    Are you in Italy, Filippo?

I've bought this one for my 335:

WARWICK ROCKBAG DELUXE RB20507B IMBOTTITA PER SEMIACUSTICA - #902333 | su MercatinoMusicale.com in Custodie per chitarra

It does the job and it doesn't break the bank.

I wouldn't feel comfortable putting an ES335 in a Rockbag, they're not rigid so if the guitar case gets bumped the guitar takes a bit of a blow. I've dented one of my guitars many times as I carried it around in a Rockbag for a couple of years.

another Mono case user here. i LOVE it:
it"s light, and soft (softcase), but still really strong and you know that your guitar will be safe in 99.9% of hits.
I would buy it again in a heartbeat

personally, i love the reunion blues bag, i've had a Mono M80 as comparison too. for me, the shoulder straps make it perfect. it is higher than the Mono, but works better when you walk with it, not banging your ass on the bottom of the case. I also feel the RB has better protection. this is all IMO. I was sworn Mono disciple, but i have to say the RB totally does it for me....

    Hej Filippo.

I don´t know, actually. Their english homepage is a bit messy...
    Just ask them themselves: hallo@tone-toys.com

They are usually quick and friendly in responding.

If you buy one, let us know how you like it!
