Looks very nice!
It is Swiss made and expensive I think.

We distribute them in the USA, and we love them! Very popular here!

It is my understanding that the SR line of amps from Godin are rebranded schertler amps.
-
Schertler now owns SR 100% and everything is Schertler now.

A friend of mine has the Unico Classic model, the best acoustic guitar amp I've heard.

I have been gigging with a Schertler Unico since 2004. It's the older 4 channel version. I purchased it new from my pal Bob November (RIP Bob) and have been very happy with it. It's been on hundreds of gigs since then and never a problem. I was a post-production sound mixer in Hollywood for about 10 years for Fox and I felt comfortable with the "mixer" like controls on the top. It also has phantom power built in and this is handy if you want to run a condenser mic or their line of Basik pickups. I used that set up for Gypsy jazz gigs with a violinist and got a very good bark from my Gitane DM-250. Magnetic pickups are best handled through the "Stat" channel to my ears, and while I could get OK tone without it, I started using a LR Baggs Para EQ between the guitar (Pisano 880/Guild AA) and the amp. It just rounds the sound out more to my ears and gives more eq options. It has plenty of power for most venues, however there are some gigs I plug in a powered cab for reinforcement. I use no other effects in the chain. The onboard reverb is just OK, it is a spring type and I use a touch of it now and then. I am pretty sure the amp was made in Italy, not Swiss made. Factory support has been a phone call away to a guy named Chris in WA if I had any questions. I get many complements on my sound from other players and while it's probably not the best jazz guitar amp out there, with some tweeking it it's an excellent tool.

Chris Middaugh works at Guild as product manager now, and all Schertler questions you might have, just contact Eastman!

Interesting, Chris and I had a couple of conversations-he is a pedal steel player. Very helpful guy. The amps still made in Italy?

The Unico is a wonderful acoustic instrument amp, especially when coupled with the dyn type Schertler pickup.
for an electric instrument the amp is very so so.

As I mentioned in previous post the additon of some type of pre-amp/eq in front of the "Stat" channel really helped the magnetic p/u sound. However I would never say that you are going to get a Blackface, Polytone, Hendrickson, AI/Razor's edge et.al. tone from it. I'm pretty sure it was designed to be primarily a acoustic amp. No comment on the country of origin-it was sold as Swiss made, however I had to take mine apart to replace the tweeter and there was information inside indicating Italian built. It's OK with me-I love my Ducati and think the Italians make some outstanding products!

I guess I just wondered since Eastman is now involved if they would move production to China. Not a bad thing.
-
The factory is still in Italy, It is just run by Schertler.
Eastman will not be taking over amplifier manufacturing, thats not really our specialty.
SR Technologies is now fully owned by Schertler.
