Just saw on FB that at NAMM Heritage was showing a new Mimi Fox signature model guitar. First great they are honoring her she is a great guitarist and teacher. Second I was allay trying to figure out which of their 575's was closest to the one Mimi plays.

Interesting! Let's see some more...

See if the right picture shows up.

I saw it at NAMM -- pretty nice! I was chatting with David Becker, who was playing his signature model.
-
Mimi has played a couple Heritages over the years. The H575 she had been playing looked like it had an ebony board without inlays and a spruce top. From the videos I've seen, she doesn't use the back pickup.
David Becker's has a Baggs piezo pup as well as the usual magnetic pickups. There may be some other special features.
Heritage's best selling archtop is the H575.
-
I'm trying to look at Mimi's guitar but am distracted by the Super Kenny Burrell on her right side at her feet.
-
I saw this on Mimi's FB page this morning. What an honor----a signature model guitar!
Here's a clip of Mimi playing "Lullaby of the Leaves." (Notice the cushion her guitar sits on. It's a Dyanrette, small. I know tis because I wrote her about it and she kindly wrote back. I use the same thing now and love it.)
-
I checked out the Dynarette a little. At first I didn't see the point. But now it makes some sense.
Here's the link. Dynarette Guitar Support Cushion
They sell for about $35. That's about the cost of a strap and it can be used for all of your guitars.
The down sides might be:
1. It's a little less portable than a strap.
2. It will position the guitar differently. This could be significant if you switch between an 18" archtop to a Les Paul.
3. It won't help you much when you stand.
None of these are impediments if you play the same type of guitar when sitting in the comfort of your home.
Tempting.

Not to derail too far but thanks to both of you for the sidetrack into the Dynarette. I could definitely see one of those being useful in my life.

Cool. Would love to play and own one eventually. I love Mimi Fox's playing...and teaching. Her Jazz Anatomy and Arpeggio book should be required beginning jazz instruction.
-
I have her Jazz Anatomy course. I don't fancy myself as a beginner and still each time I watch her videos it's like sipping from a fire hose. Her teaching and communication skills are first rate.
I ordered a small Dynarette, I didn't select the large one because I play mostly larger guitars. I hope it is large enough though. I'll post a report.

I love Mimi, but have a downer on the Dynarette. I really did not like it, but I was using it in a regular classical guitar posture, with the Dynarette on my left knee. I never tried it the way Mimi is using it.

FWIW/YMMV.

So funny. My wife calls it my "nerd pillow." But, keeps back pain at bay for certain compared to using a foot stool.
Anyways, seems like the Mimi is the perfect combination of the 575 and Sweet 16 models.
Anyone know what they sell for new now? I can only find 1 used one on reverb and it's $3300 used (it doesn't say what year it is and also has some incorrect, clearly copy-pasted info so that's concerning). If Wolfe is selling regular 575's around $2700 it might be cheaper to spec out a new build through him!? Anyone know?
That birthday is coming up fast (need to take the Mrs up on buying (or ordering) a new ax sooner rather than later!).
Raney and Abersold, great interview.
