Nice tasteful playing and a really sweet sounding guitar.

Superb, Joe.

Bravo! Now that is what I call jazz guitar. It doesn't get any better than Joe Pass. And at the end of the day, it doesn't get any better than an ES175/ES175D/ES165. Your video is proof of this.

I'm starting in on the Joe Pass chord melody book & totally get how much work that must be!
Do you mind my asking what was your source for studying that arrangement?

Great tone and you've captured Joe very well indeed ! Even though you are honest in stating how long it took to nail it, it still manages to sound impromptu which in my opinion, is no small feat ! I too, learned it from a transcription and still have to refresh the fingers over a day to play it passably (excuse the pun ! ).

Hi Longways to go. An old guitar player magazine had a transcription in standard and tab , but there's a more recent one posted on You Tube and actually now I think of it, a transcription of the "Virtuoso" version (The one played by Joe DeNisco ) and a live version is also available. Happy hunting !

This helped me a lot.
it gets you close. And yes it is time consuming but it's worth it for sure.
Thanks Long ways.

Gtrplfla,
thanks for nice things you said. It's funny, usually when I record, I have headphones on. I took off the headphones and the groove just happened. I played a couple other takes with no mistakes but this one had some life in it so I went with this one.
thanks buddy, Joe D

but transcribing direct from listening to recordings just kills me!
I may have to buy a copy of the Joe Pass Omnibook if I make it through his chord melody book!

Way to go Joe! That was awesome! Love that Joe Pass.
-
Joe,
That was worth 3 months hard work, you should be proud of yourself
the Es165 sounds just great too. Congrats on a great rendition .v.cool.
JP would have smiled.
Best, mon ami

Very nice! Thank you for the inspired playing!

Nicely played, Joe. Great guitar tone too. This will probably be moved by a mod to the Showcase section. But, I'll follow it there. It's a keeper for me!
Hey . . that's a nice lookin' L5 Wesmo you got hanging on your wall there!!
-
Hey, Joe. Very nice indeed!
Makes me miss my es165 even more.

Nice
I started out working on the same arrangement ... I think ... but I only got through the first few choruses LOL
I'm too easily distracted ...
I'll have to get back on that .... but I'm working my Ted Greene "Over the Rainbow" at the moment.
