I thought it would be fun to see what small ticket items, gadgets, and gizmos are on everyone's wishlist this holiday season. I'll start:

A set of amp casters to make my tube combo more portable

A smartphone headstock mount for reading lyrics/fakesheets.

"How does a musician make a million bucks?"

"He starts with two million ..."

In keeping with that fine tradition and wisdom, the best $100 gift you can give to a guitar player is $200.

    But seriously:

    1. However many lessons that would buy with a good and interesting teacher
    2. A night out at a jazz club.

Funny, I just wrote up a whole blog post of stuff that would make good holiday gifts:
Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five, featuring Hilary Alexander - Swing Guitar Blog - 2015 Holiday Gift Guide

    The cliff notes:
5 of my favorite swing-era guitar CDs
3 of my favorite books on swing-era guitar
My favorite guitar stand (K&M Heli 2)
My favorite non-boutique picks (Dunlop Primetone Sculpted w/o Grip) (although a single boutique pick probably fits the thread guidelines of being <$100)
My favorite tuner for everyday use (i.e. +1 for the Snark)
My favorite source for bulk single strings by the dozen (Juststrings.com - for when you keep running of out single .014 and .018 for your B and E)
My favorite surge protector: a belkin one with a swiveling plug head AND an 8 FOOT cable. It's saved me from breaking out an extension cord so many times!
My favorite XLR cables: monoprice - because they're super solid AND cheap.

    Cheers

$2.90 for a dozen plain steel strings. Can't beat that. You can afford to change them as regularly as you change your boxers...or toothbrushes.
