I'm sitting here having a beer and tequila on the rocks. I snapped some photos of his gear and settings. Looks like he's rocking a Gibson and a Super Reverb

What happened to the Benedetto? Amps, he uses different amps in every picture or video I see. It makes me believe he might be using whatever is available. Although the Super Reverb is my all time favorite and almost impossible to get a bad sound out of one.

    Those 137s are pretty cool.

The super reverb looks like an original BF...GAMH has probably had it since it was new

Wait, I've seen that Marshall 4X12 on many YouTube videos. Who's plugged to the Silverface Twin Reverb on the left?

I'm guessing the bass...there's another amp under it...perhaps the organ to that??

The Twin is, but the Super looks like a BF. Why is his guitar so close to the Marshall cab, could he be using some little solid state head with the Marshall cab as seen in vids and other pics?

    Guys...that was not Martino's guitar...that was the opening act's!

Sam Leahy on guitar and Reed Mathis on base. Seemingly unorthodox opener for Martino, but they were pretty awesome.

The Marshall 4x12 stayed on stage. Let's hope this is part of Martino's rig!!

Dunno if he still does but he used to take a Clarus 1r and just have the gig provide a cabinet. He liked the Clarus because it fit in his suitcase. He mentioned in an interview using Marshall cabs sometimes because that's what the venue had.

So which amp did he end up playing through?

Pat plays a Clarus 1R to Marshall 4x12 last night.
From all the video I have seen, he either plug in to Marshall or Mesa cab - either with Celestion Vintage 30 or G12T-75 (if the speakers stay original under the cover)
He plays a Benedetto Signature model in Walnut color last night. (He usually plays a black one)

Tonight he is playing in Santa Curz.

As far as I know, the Live at Yoshi's CD is recorded with his previous Gibson signature guitar into Clarus 1R to a Marshall 4x12 also.
However, the recording may be taken a mix of the direct out from the amp and the mic from the cab + (EQ compression efx)

A Marshall stack...?!? I thought those speakers were voiced for Rock?

    Obviously, I was wrong.

I too am playing live in Santa Cruz tonight (my regular Monday night gig at Soif) otherwise I would be at Kuumbwa watching Pat.

I have seen Pat many times since the early 70's and got a chance to talk to him at length a few years ago after a Kuumbwa show.

In the 70's, I saw Pat perform with a Black Les Paul Custom once and a sunburst L-5S many times. In the 80's and 90's he played a custom made guitar by New York luthier Abe Rivera. From the 70's through the 90's he mostly used Roland Jazz Chorus amps.

In the 2000's he was using his signature Gibson through an Acoustic Image Clarus (series 2) through two Raezer's Edge Stealth 12 Cabinets. By the end of the decade he began using whatever Cabinets the venue could provide, while still using the same series 2 AI head. This decade he has switched guitars to his Benedetto.

Pat uses a custom set of GHS flatwound strings (15-52).

He is one of my favorite jazz guitarists of all time and I find his dark tone delectable. YMMV
