Hi i know there was a post on this sometime ago

I dont want specs on pc latency buffers etc,

I want to produce a score/leadsheet similar to realbook etc etc

I want to play melody line on my guitar, somehow put int into a software ??? program
and it notates my melody line.

I use Musescore which cant do this, i have to put everty note in individually and guess the note value (not pitch)

Will Jam Origin do this? i dont need to play chords in etc. just want melody and not at 300bpm
    sometimes 220ish

I think any decent DAW will do that. Cubase certainly did it for me. You don't even have to use MIDI guitar, as ...

    - it will extract pitch and length of notes right from audio.
    - You can edit that in appropriate module,
    - convert to MIDI,

    - edit MIDI data in various types of editors ... including Score editor ...

Of course, using MIDI guitar removes above first 3 steps.

I never did a whole score though, just one example:

I know Finale does it from a kb, don't know about midi-git.

I don't think that one will produce lead sheet, it's just a replacement for hardware MIDI gear.

You need a DAW of a kind to make lead sheets, like Cubase, or specific notation software like above mentioned Finale, or Sibelius, or, ...

    Like Musescore? (free btw)

Unfortunately, OP already uses Musescore, but can not produce the result with it, so he is looking for something else.

Why not midi gtr 2 into some free DAW, then into Musescore?

Anvil or Midi Editor for PC, Garage band for Mac?

I tried the Roland GK-2A midi pick up with Logic Audio. The one and only advantage using the GK-2A (instead of using a midi keyboard) is when you want to produce TAB because the pickup "knows" the difference between an open g on the G string and g played 5th fret D string. The main disadvantage using the GK-2A as interface to your DAW is that the notation (or TAB) does not look like what you played on your guitar unless you spend some time getting rid of notes that show up all over the place because every scratch and string buzz, etc. shows up on your lead sheet.

What was MIDI convertor? GK pick up does not output MIDI, you need some box in between GK and Logic.
If you can not find right set up to tame MIDI pick up, then MIDI Gtr 2 is the thing to try, as it converts audio to midi from regular guitar signal, ie. what you think you've really played, coupled with Logic, or which ever DAW you already use.

In "Logic" I press the "Score" button at the bottom and it makes a score of the MIDI tracks.

Jam Origin's MIDI Guitar is a good option. There's a free demo of the stand alone version which should have MIDI Guitar's Virtual MIDI Out which can be selected as a MIDI source in Muse Score. Give the free demo a try, if you can select the Virtual MIDI Out then you can see if it works for you.

MuseScore only allows 'step entry', not real time scoring, which is something to consider.

    1) Start MIDI Guitar and select "VIRTUAL MIDI OUTPUT' for the MIDI Output Route, close & restart MIDI Guitar.
    2) Start MuseScore and under preferences/settings select "MIDI Guitar Out" for MuseScore's MIDI Input. If you don't see "MIDI Guitar Out" then close both apps and restart (always start MIDI Guitar first).
    (see screenshots below)

When working with MIDI Guitar you'll need to experiment to find which pickup and tone settings on your guitar work best, if you have more than one guitar try them all. Also play with Velocity Gain, Velocity Tone and Velocity Curve in MIDI Guitar to adjust the tracking to your guitar and playing.

if i plug my guitar and lead into this Sonnus little box then connect this Sonnus to my old laptop
and using some midi software ??????????? be able to capture my single note melody line, say in a file midi i guess.
take that midi file pull into Musecore then tidy up and i have my melody notated.

also if i play eg say a note on 1st beat of bar 1 will the midi show this as Beat 1 bar 1, or put it on a few beats
    because of lag

    sorry really dumb at this.
