That's right - an Epi Johnny A.
Not the same spec as the Gibby - 3 ply lam top not carved maple but it's 25.5" scale so that is appealing as there are not many 25.5 affordable semi hollows out except for a Fender Thinline Tele.
57 Classic pickups.
Comes with a hardshell case.
Will be $999 usd
$1249 cdn

According to Sweetwater, all of these (very) limited edition JA's have been sold...prior to their announced availability date of early June.
-
Never heard of Jonny A. What's he famous for?
-
I did Johnny's style, he does some nice takes on a couple Glen Campbell tunes...and I really like his take on Walk Away Renee

Thanks for the videos. Nice playing, with an almost Gretsch-like sound to my ears.
-
Great sound on "The Night Before". Been wanting to see Johnny A. a long time.MD

I saw this the other day but I didn't see any mention of a price or pre-order and when I checked Sweetwater and some other site the Epi version didn't come up. I guess one has to be an insider?

Epiphone's "Limited Edition" and "Elitest"models have raised the Gibson off shore brand to very high levels, producing one of the market's best bang for buck guitars out there in my view.

Having owned one of the Gibson versions, I'd love to play one of these. If the specs are actually close to the original sans the fancy wood, they should be stellar guitars for a great price. The problem with most of the Epiphone copies (Not Japan Reissues) the neck shapes, finish , hardware, and even neck pitch is too steep for my liking!

Wife treated me to a blues cruise last year out of Miami. It was a Bonamassa thing and Johnny A was among the performers. He was relegated to a lounge on one of the lower decks but it was perfect for me since hardly anyone showed up for his first set and I was able to stand at his feet for the sound check. He had five or six of his Gibson models all in different finishes. Through a couple of Marshalls and delays, his tones were other-worldly clean and when I dropped in just as they were starting to play "Cissy Strut", it was one of the few times in my decades listening to live music that the hair on the back of my head stood up and the chills literally ran up and down my spine. He can hang with the hard blues rockers but his clean performances are special.

All very cool. The Epiphones of late....are wonderful. I have 3. But to find a '61RI Casino, was such a blessing.
My favorite axe of all time has been a '61 Guild Starfire III. Perfect. The Chinese Casino I found is so close in temperament, that I feel blessed.
If you can't have the perfect guitar, the way to perfection, is to: be open-minded, and try a lot of guitars.
I'd really like to find an Epi Johnny A., that measures up - they are so pretty.
-
I ordered mine today from Long and McQuade.

Funny I did the online text thing with Sweetwater and the guy sends me back the Gibson Johnny A page and no info on the Epi. LOL

I replied that I and many others get emails about products, sales, events, etc. but there is no mention on their site about the Epi Johnny A and I never received any info about it. I told him I didn't think it was equitable that others did and how does one find out about products like this.
Whether I purchase one or not it seems rather discriminatory to notify some customers and not others.
JMHO.
