There may be little that I know, but I sort of know my tools - so to speak.
One way or another I ended up with this bizarre, mostly unfortunate, “Gibson” multi-tool.
What on earth is the stamped steel flat thing for?
It is fairly soft steel and easily bent, so it is entirely possible that it is useless for its intended purpose.

Anyway, if you are a Gibson “true believer” (in the Eric Hoffer sense), and you want this tool, PM me with an address.
The truss rod wrench is pretty good really. But do not try to use any of the other tools anywhere near your nice guitar.
Maybe you could use the screwdriver to attach the LV-GBSN license plate to the car? But otherwise most of the tool is a guitar accident waiting to happen.
If you are outside the USA then send something in trade or kick in a little for postage. Maybe a “Dean” multi-tool - I can only imagine the accessories on that thing.

According to the Gibson store it is a "Lever with laser engraved reference marks (3/64" and 5/64") for adjusting action at the 12th fret."
It's still out there!

I googled it, never saw it in hand to know if that matches. Are there any "engraved marks" on the mystery appendage ?
You got a Gibson ruler, their proof that only one action height is possible !

It's for catching any tiny little baby snakes that might get into your gear. Here's the full sized version.
-
Wow, indeed.
There are two laser engravings - absurdly small little lines and writing.
They actually sell this? And someone buys it?
Wait, maybe there is a volute on it somewhere.
Or “Hutch” made it.

No, this one is signed “Starsky”

Last summer I moved a pile of coarse gravel next to my driveway and found a few extremely new born milk snakes. Incredibly nice looking gray and maroon with white separations.
This thing would have been prefect for that.

Nah, Gibson is smart. They know you need two of these, so you can retighten that cheap hex screw that holds that fake swiss army mess together!
-
That is a demographic modulator.
Gibson uses it to cause purchases of multiple units of functionally-identical guitars.
-
Can you open a beer with it?
-
No beer tool, sorry.

I am certainly mistaken about the colors. It must have been like in Woddy’s pic.
In any case i did not panic that coral snakes had invaded Massachusetts somehow

Now I keep hearing Zappa in my head
what a great way to start the weekend !

Apart from the hook and the truss rod wrench it looks like the tool to drop into the saddle bag for your next road bike trip.
-
Tool to clean your finger nails... maybe?

Besides the feeler gauge for setting action, you could possibly use the larger one to lever up a tight acoustic bridge pin to change strings. I find it odd that this multi-tool gizmo doesn't have that type of pry bar thingy for that function. It has enough other things on it to make me want to clean out my tool boxes. (Not really
)

Now that I have been educated on this wonder tool, the gauge is not a feeler gauge. It is a bizarre sort of micro depth ruler with incredibly small laser etched lines and numbers that almost disappear in the rough stamped steel.
The current bidding for this amazing do-it-all wonder of modern luthiery currently stands at,...
$0.00 !!!!!!! And climbing!
OK, no actual bids. Nor any actual auction.
But if there were bids they would be sky high!!!!
I mean in comparison to the actual value!!!
No, wait - that came out wrong.
-
I only want the tool that came with gold plating to a depth of .00000000001 micro-inches, is that pic after a cool breeze blew the color off?
John

Yes, this was originally Argentine Gray with gold hardware.
-
But really, if someone wants this, I am happy to send it in the USA free via USPS.
-
Thanks, but no thanks. I have more than sufficient useless tools, some that even looked useful at the time.

This one looks destined for the eternal box of tool shame.
It does each thing worse than a simpler tool.
Maybe CME will have an amazing “blowout” sale on them and the odd forum shills will promote this tool?
I assume Gibson was intending to provide a nice bit of swag with this tool, but guitars do not do well with bits of random metallic parts.
OK, into the deep box of unused metal parts,...
