If you write or call, they MIGHT be able to tell you. Or maybe not.

My guess is practically speaking the differences would not be enough to make any difference. What does it really mean because the results are what count? If the neck cannot handle the tension it will show up pretty fast or if the relief changes. Then drop to thinner strings.

I think D'Addario makes Sadowsky strings, but I'm not sure. If they are D'Addario strings, then the tension is probably the same. If made by another manufacturer, they might be slightly different. However, I doubt there is any practical difference.

sadowsky doesn't wind his own strings!!...he gets them made with his brand on them...as d'addario is probably the largest oem string maker in the country...and both are in the greater nyc area (queens-long island)...chances are very good that they are indeed exactly the same!!..are the ball end of the sadowsky set colored??

i believe sadowsky used labella for his strings at one point in the past as well...they are in ny as well

    cheers

    Hey
The ball ends are not colored on the Sadowsky. But I guess they could use others ends? They are more expensive Than the Ej21 though and not available in Sweden. So if they are the same there’s no point in me ordering them online and pay mooore...

Of course I could put them of to compare but why ruin a pack of strings if someone actually knows the answer to my question ?

Ive tried getting in touch With Sadowsky but I’m sure they have better things to do than answer my string questions.

Btw , string tension makes huge difference for me and affect the set up and feel on my guitars. Why that’s not the case for everyone is beyond me :-)

so if anyone actually knows , please let me know. Thanks/P

There's not likely to be much difference between these two sets, either in tension or response. I identify with what you say regarding the importance of feel/tension of strings.

I don't know whether you're about to embark upon a "string quest", but if you're 90% happy with the D'Addario EJ21s, you'll very probably end up going back to them.

It's easy to use whatever balls the customer wants. D'Addario has millions of the chrome and brass balls in stock, and can use those for a production run. It's an absolute certainty that Sadowsky does not make strings, but outsources from some company that does. There are several, so it's not as certain that D'Addario is the one, but it's a good bet. If Sadowsky strings are scarce and expensive, I wouldn't bother with them. I don't anyway.
