Now's your chance to purchase a guitar or two from his collection--or at least assess what the "celebrity premium" might be...

    Home

Roy was no Walter Becker, but still, his estate is clearing out quite a few nice guitars through this very hip guitar store in Tulsa. I have no affiliation but the store is definitely worth checking out should you find yourself in town--right around the corner from the Woody Guthrie Museum and the (coming soon) Bob Dylan Archives--a couple blocks from the famous Cain's Ballroom. And their website is cool as well. Just sayin...

Well I only looked at 3 items, but it seems like they're not not tacking on much of a "celebrity premium," the prices hover right around market.

I believe Roy Clark had an early 1960s Byrdland with a CC pickup in the neck position. Now thats something rarely seen.

Roy Clark, through an interview in Guitar Player, convinced me of the advantages of a higher-than-usual action. "I like to feel some resistance," he said. I tried it, and it worked for me.
