    Hello!

I erroneously started a thread about the GB-20 so now one for the actual guitar in mind - the GB-30!

    Any opinions? Experiences?

    Thanks!

Are you thinking about the LGB30? The GB series is 10 and 20.

Ah Ok not a current model, im sorry! I see its made in japan..I have two MIJ Ibanez the PM200 and AF200. The quality of build on the MIJ guitars is incredible. I did have a GB10 for a while. Im tall, like playing sitting, and the GB body was just too small to sit comfy with.
    Hope that helps.

It LOOKS like a thinner GB10 but it's actually a semi-hollowbody with a centerblock, like many other semi's. Plays well, comfortable, generic sound, with heavy strings you should be able to coax a passable jazz sound out of it. Doesn't have the character of a decent ES-335 .

OK, my experience with the GB30BK (BK = Black finish; TR = Red finish) is as follows:

This is a semi-hollow guitar with similar body dimensions as a GB10, but with a very slim body and center block. It has a very sweet tone from its dual set-in Super 58 pickups. Also, it has a Mahogany neck and relatively slim neck profile with an Ebony board. Hanging from the shoulders, it did neck-dive slightly. Mine was in mint condition, but I've seen others for sale with binding rot of varying degrees. The binding material gradually turns a nice amber hue, but if not properly cared for may crack in places.

I loved everything about this guitar except for its slim neck. I sold it to a collector who currently is enjoying it.

    Confusion with Ibanez model names...

GB30 is an '80's Japan made slim bodied semi-hollow. (See my photo above)

LGB30 is an inexpensive recent full hollow body made in China. It's a cheaply made instrument, but still has good QC.

Hopefully the OP will clarify exactly which model he is inquiring about.

A mate of mines got one , I tried it on a jam for a tune ....
its well made and designed like all Ibanez , quite a heavily built thing ...
it's got a really solid centre block and plays with little acoustic output
but it had thin strings on it so maybe it would liven up with fatter strings .... dunno

It does look extremely cool ....
