Anybody who knows this (new) guitar. I have dreamed about buying a ES-335 for many years - and have the opportunity now. I play blues, soul, rock, fusion and jazz... Does anyone here have experiences? - for example with the pickups: 2 x Custombucker Alnico 3 (Unpotted)

I have a 2017 Gibson es 335 63 vos reissue with Custom Bucker Alnico 3 pickups. It's a great guitar. You can't go wrong.
The pickups are a bit mid scooped, have great clarity and are a little microphonic due being unpotted. You can get great Blues, Soul, Rock and Fusion tones depending on what pedals you may use. It sounds great clean as well. For Jazz I would use something else. It's not that you couldn't, it's just that the tone of these pickups doesn't lend itself to what I would want to hear for jazz. That is getting into subjective territory here of course.

I hope that helps a little.

    Cheers!

If the 1961 specs are also reflected in the neck dimensions, this guitar will have a skinny "fast"neck (1 11/16" width at nut but very slim front-to-back). Some like that, others don't. Try before you buy. For all I know, the 1961 Gibson necks were the only ones having this skinny front-to-back profile (but I may be wrong). Ibanez copied that profile in many of their guitars. Later in the 1960s the Gibson necks became narrower (1 9/16") for some years before returning to 1 11/16".
