I have two types of strings handy.
D'Addario 12-54's. EXL145.
Thomastik Jazz Swing 11-47's.
I'm playing solo fingerstyle music including light jazz, classical, Irish, Folk and Pop etc.
I have the Thomastik 11's on my Ibanez AFJ85 atm so maybe a different set on the AS93 would be nice.
Which strings would you put on the AS93?

11-47, the other set is too heavy for me.

Just put the TIs ( 11-47 ) on that very guitar and the balance, feel and tone seem spot on. Do not hesitate!

Try them with a two week trial and play your full repertoire. Asking us for a string recommendation is like asking strangers in a restaurant whether you should get the chicken or the fish.
You'll know what allows you to play what you play. You have the experience and chops to play better than many of us, so I trust YOU more than anyone posting.
Hey, how about you make a list of variable parameters? String height, relief, nut string clearance, pickup height, amp settings, pick choice and share your findings.
If somebody gave me advice on something as personal as string choice, even though I myself might not know at that moment, I'd have them audition to see if they're worthy to advise me.
Just my thoughts, I trust you.

I think the fun is in trying. Personally on a semi I like roundwounds but it really depends on the guitar and the repertoire you want to play on it. For example I ended up with a set of chromes .012 with a plain 3rd (for now) on the ES -330 (thinline hollowbody) while my Stanford Semi seems to like .010 roundwounds.
What does your Ibanez like? You'll know when you try. ;-)

I've never been too interested in the mechanics of guitars and set up etc but I will certainly measure what I can with these strings (I put on the flatwound 11's) and will report back after my next gig which is Sunday week.

I would put on the D'Addarios first, since they won't last for very long anyway. Then change to the Thomastiks, so I can appreciate the difference much earlier than I would the other way around.
I found this Ibanez rarity
