Hello fellow forumers,
There is a new version of the 5th Avenue that I didn’t knew about before and there is not a lot of mention around.
Yesterday, I was shopping for a used Kingpin II in a shop not too far from home, and with this Kingpin II (a very common sunburst one in quite good shape) I discovered “this”.. and fell immediately in love with it.
This is a 5th Avenue Jumbo P90 Harvest Gold.
Harvest Gold is the color, to be honest its not that different from a sunburst.
The “Jumbo “ side is everything but obvious, the size seems the same than the non cutaway 5th Avenue, perhaps, (I have no comparison) the body is a little bit deeper.
Visually it’s a non-cutaway with two P90….
Compared to the Kingpin II it seems a little bit heavier and gave me a “I’m more sturdy” feeling (perhaps it’s just a feeling).
I had a first generation non-cutaway one P90 5th Avenue a few years back and the acoustic sound of this “new” 5th Avenue seems better that the one I had in memory, (still lacks bass depth)
Beside the two P90 the difference is in the look with inlays on the neck (same neck that previous 5th Avenues) and a funky headstock
I’m not sure this look will be to everyone's taste but I love it.

I like it, especially the headstock inlay.

Nice. My immediate reaction was a flashback to 1970s kitchen appliances. This looks much nicer!
I’ve never played a Godin but they are well regarded. And P90s in an archtop- yum! One of my favorite sounds.

That thing looks to be ES-295 sized... love the color!
I'd love to see them make the regular Kingpin (1 P90) in Harvest Gold
