    Hey,

I’m currently playing an Eastman AR-371CE and I’m looking to get an upgrade since I’m going to college in the coming fall. I was looking for something that had a single humbuck and had 17” bout as I really like the feel. Any thoughts on the new archtops that D’Angelico released earlier this year? Think it’s worth the upgrade?

That new dangelico looks sick. I’d get one as an upgrade to the Eastman for sure.

How much are you allowing yourself to spend? Don't neglect the used market, which could frequently turn up some gems that may not qualify for the pricey "vintage" market, but possibly land you a real keeper that's seen some use (lovingly broken in).
As long as you're in the market, be aware of what is out there. Are you going to school where there are other music students? I was in a town where there were lots of students with really nice guitars. The bulletin boards had unbelievable guitars as students were also upgrading.
I've always liked the way D'Angelico acoustic floaters looked, but personally, in playing them, I've found others with solid tops more inspiring. But that's me. Look around. Good luck.

Hey! Thanks a lot for the detailed response,

I’m going to a school with other music students too. My budget is in about the 2,000 dollar range. I’m gonna start looking into some of the used stuff!

I hadn’t seen these. Not bad for $1899 nowadays for a laminate archtop with a single Humbucker. Rich approves and is trying to get approval to sell them. It’s impossible to find $2k new guitars today.
