I think it sounds great, and a long way forward from when you posted something a few months back. The lines sound more original, and you have more rhythmic confidence.

Are you doing laundry while you practice?

    Thanks both!

@supersoul - lol! The laundry is sort of a work in progress

Joe Pass had a huge impact on my approach to learning to improvise when - somewhere in his well known video - he recommends that you try to play straight eighths through the changes.

the good bit about this is that you really have to focus on the harmony - and your line tends to acquire a certain rhythmical purposiveness which is a common feature of good improvising.

the bad bit is that you might start to think that solos consist mostly of straight eighths....

(that the 8th note is the basic rhythmical unit of most jazz solos at most tempos - does not mean that there are any good solos which consist mostly of 8th notes)

so its important to remember that this is a practice strategy not a recommendation about how to approach actual playing

learning to outline 12 bar changes in 8ths has to be a good idea.

Got to admit - I'm not sure if you're recommending that I try that exercise (I do already, but maybe not as much as I should), or that I need to break my improv up with more varied rhythms?
