    Hi everyone,
I hope this is ok to post - I really want some help finding great music!

Having been a Rock/Pop/Metal guy for years, I'm trying to listen to as much amazing music as I can.
I'm going to do a separate post for more straight-ahead blues (LINK HERE).

I'm hoping people are happy to share their favourite Jazz-Blues Albums/Recordings/Players that someone new to the genre MUST check out. I'm looking for stuff that not only sounds great, but also has incredible, tasteful playing on it.

(If this has been posted in the wrong category, please move it to the right place please).

This Spotify playlist seems like a good place to start ... Unsupported browser (this appears not to have linked, but it's called Jazz-Blues and has Watermelon Man as the first song)

but I'm hoping to hear from people who can make some excellent suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

You might like to try a Hard Bop playlist. It brought the blues and danceable grooves back into jazz after forays thru bebop and cool.

Jazz Messengers a good place to start, as many artists who went on to solo status passed through Art Blakey’s band at some point.

Among my favorites are Horace Silver. I love his tune Strollin’. Fun to play at jam sessions.

    Wishing you joyful excursions!

^ My OS Pro teacher made the joke that the name to that tune for current times would be 'Scrollin' lol.

Also, this one is a classic. Honky Tonk Part I & II by Bill Doggett with Billy Bauer on the guitar.
(Basically, any jazz-blues played by someone named Bill is gonna be great)
