He may no longer have the chops of yesteryear, but he mellowed in the most musical way.
Thanks

Love that he's such an HONEST player. For all the changes he's gone through in sound, tone, vibe, speed and line, it's always been such a true voice of who he was and who he became as a person. Jim Hall was another one who had that quality. No place for playing what you played or who you were when you were younger, there's so much to say about your relationship with space in the present.
Players who are always evolving challenge me to understand, and embrace artistic mastery even though there may have been things they'd done earlier, things I personally cherish more.
Bill Frisell is another really honest player too. He play with the fire of youth when he had his first quartet, but he's always played what he loves and who he is. It's worked out well for him.
I do wish Sco and Bill would play in a quartet again though.

I have almost all John Scofield's albums.
I have been interested in Scofield's music for over 45 years.
Besides, I still love Pat Martino and Jim Hall.
Being entertaining.
