Hello! This is my first post on this forum, it was suggested to me by a member over at The Gear Page, where I've been a member and have done business for years. I also run a shop called Gray Dog Music in Prescott, AZ, although this is my personal guitar. Lots of references if needed, I've been dealing in guitars for a couple decades now. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! Thanks!

Truly beautiful Gibson Johnny Smith single pickup version from the early 1970s. This guitar sounds incredible. It's one of those guitars that get's your attention immediately from the first note played. Beautiful to look at, and in great condition for its age. It has really inspired me to play differently, alas... I am not a jazz player and this is just not the right guitar for me.

Ships in original hardshell case. The guitar has recently been fretted by Chris Fleming (former director of Fender Custom Shop) and plays perfectly. The original "Johnny Smith" tailpiece has been replaced with a gold finger style, which was a common upgrade and is seen on a lot of these guitars (also comes stock on the Le Grande models). Currently has a Lollar Johnny Smith pickup which really does sound amazing. The original is dead, but is included in sale. A much more practical endpin jack was installed at the same time as the pickup. Chris also made a new pickguard for it, but I have the original also. Tuners are repros, with no extra holes drilled, and originals included. 1 3/4" Nut spacing, neck thickness at first fret is about .85". This is a factory second model, but I can't see why. I have lots more pictures, so feel free to request more, and reach out with any questions you might have.

Comps are hard to find, but I'm pricing this under anything I can find on the internet. Asking $7K shipped. As for trades, I'm relatively open. I'm always looking for vintage stuff, and cash can go either way. Top of the list would be vintage Fender Tweeds or Deluxe Reverb, vintage or Custom Shop Gretsch or Gibson ES, etc... but I'm open to other scenarios. Let me know what ya got. Thanks!
