Ooh I can jump in first here, I did this one a few years ago.

(I used a Boss OC3 pedal to get the low bass notes.)

I'm not 100% at the moment but I got through this so you can have it. Not that it matters much here :-)

And here's a slow one. It's different. You never know how it's going to turn out.

Happy I got BH together in time in the head and improv.

Also, the thread title is a typo. It's September not August. M-ster you're fired! :P

    Bobby -

Look, I know you want my attention but I'm not going to like your clip. It's not good playing. In fact, it's really not good at all. The chords don't sound right, I don't know what you're doing with the left hand, and so on. It's terribly unmusical. I know this isn't very kind of me but I'm not going to say it's good when it's not.

I'd like to hear you play just one thing properly, with movement, with skill, with beauty. That would be enough. But all this plonky stuff isn't really musical.

    Sorry, has to be said.

I wasn't trying to get your attention about my tune, I actually just thought it was a funny coincidence that you named your tune ainy. But I see if you don't like it. I was wondering how it came off to others. I'm happy with it, but I know there's always room for improvement or ways to do things that is more attractive to most listeners.

    I prefer Bobby’s version to ragman’s!

Me too! Seems like the Open Studio lessons are worth their money. It sounds really pianistic and quite musical.

This is how your namesake did it. I find it all a bit flowery personally but each to their own. I must be a minimalist.

^ I'm not a minimalist but I don't really like the Tatum school of frantically changing tempos and spazzing out the whole time haha.

    Very good solo playing.
Very good jazz sound and very good jazz taste and feel.

I'm still trying with this. All the others were basically using subs, which I thought were more interesting hearing-wise. This one just plays the chords and is therefore more melodic. Not as good, I don't think.

Thanks kris. I ought to do it with some improv next time.
