Up Jumped Spring

Here's my take on "Up Jumped Spring", written by Freddie Hubbard which first appeared on the album "Three Blind Mice" in 1962 by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Footnote- I met Art Blakey in the summer of 1979 in Waitsfield Vt. where my quartet was the opening act for the Messengers for 7 shows over 3 days. I also met alto saxist Bobby Watson on that gig, who I'd later collaborate with more than two decades later.
